The Calistoga Chamber of Commerce has launched its completely redesigned Visitors Center Web site.
The site, www.CalistogaVisitors.com, has a “fresh, sophisticated look and a variety of new features — most notably an online reservation system, Webervations, that shows up-to-date room availability for Calistoga lodging,” says Executive Director Rex Albright.
Other improvements include categorized listings of wineries, spas, restaurants, shops, recreational activities and attractions; interactive maps; sample trip itineraries and multiple event calendars for public, wine, music, family and community events.
The site also allows visitors to preview a movie trailer for “Bottle Shock,” the feature film version of events leading up to Chateau Montelena’s historic win in the 1976 Paris wine tasting, an event which put Napa Valley on the international wine map. Filmed partly in Calistoga and partly at the winery, the film opens Aug. 6.
“The Web site does everything we set out to do, which is to show visitors why Calistoga should be their next vacation destination any time of year,” Albright said.
The Web site’s new Press Room will make information more accessible to the media, with downloadable releases, high-resolution images (both current and historic) and a sampling of recent international articles featuring the Napa Valley resort town. In addition, the site has an Events Blog and a form to submit events for consideration on the site’s calendar.
The next phase of the Chamber’s Web site development is to renovate the site geared specifically for its membership, coming later this summer.
