Name that date answer: Step right up!
Monday, July 06, 2009

Last week’s picture of George Butler generated a lot of attention, but not for the reasons you’d think. It makes us proud of Calistoga that so many called to let us know we made a mistake by suggesting the Butler Pavilion was named after the guy featured in the 1959 photo. The photo was taken during the 100th anniversary of the founding of Calistoga by Sam Brannan — which would make this year the 150th anniversary. Anyway, the Butler Pavilion was named, as so many of you pointed out, in honor of Howard “Boots” Butler.
