Low income families offered pool discount
Program gives $30 break on $40 swim lessons
Monday, July 06, 2009

With swim lessons now being offered at the Calistoga Community Pool, the group that helped make it possible, the CCPP, is offering a reduced-fee swim lesson program for low-income residents of Calistoga, especially youth and senior applicants.

Qualified applicants will be asked to complete a form to receive a coupon good for $30 off the regular $40 swim lesson. Applications may only be picked up at the Calistoga Family Center, located next to the Calistoga Elementary School at 1327 Berry St.

Once coupons are awarded, applicants must register in person at the community pool for the swim lessons. The coupon plus $10 is good for a full two-week session.

Swim lessons are 25 minutes long and held Monday through Thursday, morning or evening, for two weeks. Three sessions are still available: Session three runs July 6 through July 16 (please sign up by July 3-5); Session four runs July 20 through July 30 (please sign up July 17-19) and Session five runs August 3 through Aug. 13 (sign up July 31-Aug. 2).

Only Calistoga residents are eligible for the low-income discounts. Only 100 coupons are available, and they are given on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information call the Calistoga Family Center at 942-6206 or the CCPP at 942-TIPS.
