Ever cheat a friend? I remember passing on the film “Best Laid Plans” when it first came out, thinking it was a poor name for a flick, especially if it wasn’t a takeoff on John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men,” or Robert Burns’ poem, “To a Mouse.” Choose well I would like to contemplate with you for just a few moments the wonder of “choosing.” The fact that the human mind can “choose” is an amazing phenomenon and it is something that I believe should be carefully guarded. This guarding, I believe, is part of what the founding fathers of our nation were trying to do when they established a Constitution that would preserve our right to pursue happiness and worship as we chose. They had come freshly from a Europe where freedom of choice had been severely limited. News
Some things to believe I realized, the other day, that I’ve been telling myself that there are a lot of things I just can’t believe.
